All guitarists are invited to the International Festival FORUM GITARRE WIEN 2006 (Vienna, Austria). The location is the centrally located „Konservatorium für Musik und Drama-tische Kunst“. Its stylish ambience and the comfortable restaurants, where all the festival  participants meet for lunch and after the concerts, are part of the pleasant atmosphere. This festival brings together diverse groups of participants that include visitors, guitarists, the artists, instructors, guitar makers and publishers.

Paris Spanish guitarist Agustin Maruri presents a new cd dedicated to the music of Fernando Sor. In this new recording, a large selection of the Minuets are featured, from opus number 2 to 36. This is the only available recording using an original historical instrument ; a Rene Lacote guitar dated Paris 1840.

The booklet notes are by the Fernando Sor  authority Brian Jeffery who  was also responsible for the complete facsimil edition of Sor’s compositions as well as the composer’s  biography.

Agustin Maruri is a virtuoso classical guitar performer from Spain. Always in demand around the world he has performed in many countries.

He has given concerts in the five continents performing in Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway,Sweden, Netherlands, Poland, Finland, England, USA, Canada, Bulgaria, Argentina, México, Chile, Cuba, Panama, Guatemala, Santo Domingo, Paraguay, Venezuela, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Morroco, Senegal, China, India, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Berlin 2006 International Guitar Competition & Festival will be held October 6 to 8, 2006 at Glaskasten Ballsaal (Ballroom), 9 Prinzenallee 33, 13359, Berlin. This year's festival includes Concerts, Master Classes, and Guitar Competition.
