He studied Classical guitar with Demetrio Ballesteros at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Madrid, Spain where he graduated in 1979 with Honors. That same year he made his New York City Classical Guitar debut Concert at Carnegie Recital Hall. |

 Australia Gutiarist Dan McKay Daniel
McKay began his musical studies at an early age under the guidance of his
parents, both of whom are practicing music teachers. Moving to the Blue
Mountains (NSW) in the early 1980’s, Daniel became well known as a
multi-instrumentalist performing within a myriad of popular and jazz styles.
During this period, Daniel made many recordings for both commercial and
independent release. |

How about news that's not the usual classical guitar type?
Well, I typed in the usual www.classicalguitarnews.com on my browser today only to find that the site has been hacked. Well, it was a bit of a panic at first. But, all's well now. Site is now fully restored. |

A new set of score books from the CD "Algo que
decir" de José Jiménez "El Viejín" has been released.
The transcription of José Jiménez El
Viejín's album "Algo que decir" is the first work published by the founder of
the sophisticated and mysterious "Caño Roto" style of guitar. This musically and
technically complex style is unique to the gypsy neighborhood Caño Roto in
Madrid, where the highest concentration of flamenco guitarists in the world can
be found.
