How young to start learning Classical Guitar? - 2006/07/12 07:56 The other day, I met a Russian violin teacher. I asked him whether I should take up the violin. He said unless I was four years old, I could forget about it. To him, to be serious in violin, you must be young enough -- four years old!

But I remember someone telling me that in classical guitar, you can not start too early, ideally not until until you're a teenager at least for physiological development suitable for holding and playing a guitar.

So it seems confusing the two school of thoughts! Can someone clarify my confusion?

Re:How young to start learning Classical Guitar? - 2006/07/19 11:53 My child started learning the piano at 4 years old. Now she's 12 and still taking piano lessons, and wants to learn the guitar too. I wonder if that's the right age to start guitar?
