Guitar Festival in Quebec |

A Music Festival Begins in Rural Quebec – featuring musicians from New York City and Montreal.
From the 31st of July to August 6, the farm lands, fields and forests of eastern Quebec will be awash with the sounds of guitars, flutes and song. The festival. “A Midsummer Music Dream/ Songe d’été en musique” will feature concerts of music for guitar ensembles, and guitar in combination with voice and flute. There is also an early music concert scheduled. The performers are professional musicians from both New York and Montreal.In addition to the concerts, festival participants can also enroll in guitar classes such as technique and chamber ensemble, and rock guitar. Instruction will also be provided in the form of both private lessons and performance master classes. The festival will take place in the “Beauce” region of Quebec which is a 1 1/2 hour drive south from Quebec City, and approximately a 1 1/2 hour drive north from the Maine border crossing. Events are taking place in the towns of Courcelles, Lambton and La Guadeloupe. The venues are the Moulin Bernier, a museum of art and culture in Courcelles, Église St-Vital in Lambton, Église Notre-Dame in La Guadeloupe, La Gare du Domaine in Guadeloupe. |
